What is a Big Box?
A Big Box is a large-format stackable plastic container with a standard 1200 × 1000 mm base (the same footprint as a European pallet), designed to transport and store bulk product: fruit and vegetables, parts, plastic granules, meat or industrial product. It is the go-to format when a large volume needs to be moved in as few handling steps as possible.
The Big Box is made from HDPE, is stackable both full and empty, and is designed to be reused over dozens of cycles. Unlike a single-use box, it is returnable and falls outside the plastic tax. Depending on the sector it is also called a plastic bulk bin or stackable container, but it is the same 1200 × 1000 mm container.
Food-grade HDPE
Virgin high-density polyethylene (HDPE), suitable for food contact under Regulations 1935/2004 and 10/2011.
Load up to 500 kg
High static and dynamic load resistance depending on model; the vented 780 Big Box takes up to 500 kg.
Stackable
Stackable when full for transport, and nestable/stackable when empty to optimise return trips and storage.
Returnable and reusable
Designed for dozens of cycles. Outside the single-use plastic tax and aligned with the PPWR.

How much load can a Big Box take?
It depends on the model. The vented 1200 × 1000 × 780 mm Big Box takes up to 500 kg of load. If you need an exact figure for your product, we will confirm it.
Is the Big Box suitable for food contact?
Yes. It is made from food-grade HDPE. It is used in the fruit and vegetable, meat and food sectors with its declaration of conformity.
Are Big Box and bulk bin the same thing?
