In a cutting room, the container isn't an accessory: it's a food-contact surface, and health inspectors treat it as such. We supply abattoirs, cutting rooms and meat industries with the three containers that keep their daily operations running: standardised E2 and E3 crates, watertight solid bulk bins and hygienic pallets.
E2 or E3 crate: which to use in the cutting room?
Both are standardised 600x400 mm crates in high-density polyethylene; what changes is the height, and with it, the volume and weight your operators handle:
E2 (600x400x200 mm): lower and lighter, the usual choice for cutting and in-line handling. Fewer kilos per crate means fewer injuries and better turnover.
E3 (600x400x300 mm): 50% more volume per crate, designed for cold-room storage and moving large pieces.
Both fit the sector's standard shelving and forklifts, withstand cold rooms and high-temperature wash tunnels, and you'll find them in our meat crates category, new or sanitised second-hand. If you're torn between the two, our guide on E2 and E3 meat crate regulations goes into the detail.
How is food contact certified?
With paperwork, not promises. Our meat-sector material is HDPE suitable for food contact, and every order comes with its conformity documentation, ready to file in your HACCP records and show at the next inspection. Second-hand crates are delivered inspected and sanitised, with proof.
One detail that saves headaches: we offer colours to code product lines, shifts or zones (raw/cooked), the simplest way to avoid cross-contamination that you'd otherwise have to explain later.
By-products and dripping: the bulk bin that doesn't stain the cold room
For by-products, trimmings and anything that drips, the answer is the solid bulk bin of 1200x1000x780 mm: watertight walls and floor, around 500 kg of usable load and a thorough wash between uses. No puddles in the cold room, no liquids in transport, no surprises at inspection.
Complete it with hygienic pallets with a smooth surface for internal movement: no grooves where dirt can lodge, and washable in a tunnel, exactly what audits expect to see under your product.
Renewing the fleet without throwing out the old
When you renew crates or bulk bins, the old ones don't go in the skip: we buy them back and recondition what can be reused, as an authorised manager of non-hazardous plastic waste, with a certificate for your environmental records. You do the cutting; we take care of the container's working life. Request a price here with the references and quantities, and we'll come back with a fixed price.
Sobre el sector Meat
Are meat crates suitable for food use?
Yes, our E2 and E3 meat crates are made from food-contact-approved plastic and withstand the washing and disinfection required by the sector.
What's the difference between an E2 and an E3 crate?
Both measure 600x400 mm; the height changes: the E2 (200 mm) is lower and lighter, ideal for in-line cutting, and the E3 (300 mm) holds 50% more volume, designed for the cold room and large pieces. Both fit standard forklifts and shelving.
Do you buy used crates when we renew our fleet?
Yes: we buy back your used crates and bulk bins, recondition what can be reused and recycle the rest as an authorised waste manager, with a management certificate for your environmental records.
Are there colours to separate product lines?
Yes, we have several colours available to code zones, shifts or lines (raw/cooked) and reduce the risk of cross-contamination in the room.
