In food and beverages, a container that can't prove what it's made of doesn't get onto the production floor. We work with packing plants, wineries, olive oil mills, canneries and bakeries that all need the same thing: food-contact-approved containers with the documentation their HACCP system requires, delivered when production calls for them.
1000 L IBC or 200 L drum?
For liquids and bulk goods, the decision comes down to volume and handling:
[1000-litre IBC](/venta/grg-ibc): four times the capacity of a drum in the footprint of a pallet, with a discharge valve and integrated cage. The efficient option for oils, musts, brine and process water. For direct food use we always recommend a new IBC.
[200-litre drum](/venta/bidones) with lid and strap: airtight seal, wide mouth and handling without a forklift. The classic choice for olives, pickles and batch fermentations, stackable and weather-resistant.
The quick rule: if you move the liquid by forklift and by the thousand litres, IBC; if you work it in batches or need to open and close it daily, drum. In our guide to IBC, GRG and the 1000-litre drum we explain the naming and the regulations in detail.
What documentation will an IFS or BRC audit ask for?
The declaration of conformity for materials in contact with food, for every container that touches your product. We supply it with the order, and on reconditioned containers we add proof of sanitisation. Your auditor wants traceability; our job is to make sure you have it without chasing paperwork.
The other audit classic is the pallet: splintered, absorbent wood loses points. The hygienic plastic pallet, with a smooth, groove-free surface that's washable in a tunnel, is the standard answer, in 1200x800 and 1200x1000 mm sizes.
From bulk to the line: the rest of the circuit
Beyond liquids, we cover the rigid container needs of the plant: watertight solid big box units of 1200x1000 mm for raw material and work-in-progress, and standardised stackable crates for intermediate stages and picking. All in food-grade polyethylene, new or inspected second-hand with savings of up to 60%.
When the container retires
We are an authorised manager of non-hazardous plastic waste: we collect your end-of-life containers with a certificate and return anything reconditionable to the circuit. That certificate counts towards your sustainability report, and it lets us offer you inspected second-hand stock at a good price. The circular economy of packaging, applied without the speeches.
Tell us what product you're packaging and what volume you move each month, and we'll propose the full container circuit with a fixed price: request a quote.
Sobre el sector Food and beverages
Do you offer containers for food use?
Yes, we have hygienic pallets, 1000 L IBCs, drums and crates for food use, compliant with European regulations on reusable packaging.
What documentation do you provide for HACCP?
Every order comes with the declaration of conformity for materials in contact with food; reconditioned containers also include proof of sanitisation. Ready to file and show at audit.
Is a reconditioned IBC suitable for food use?
For direct food use we recommend a new IBC. The reconditioned one, leak-tested and sanitised, is ideal for process water, soaps or non-critical liquids, at a fraction of the price.
Difference between hygienic and standard pallet?
The hygienic one has a closed, smooth surface with no grooves where dirt can lodge, and is washed in a tunnel: it's what IFS/BRC audits expect to see under your product. The standard vented one is lighter and more economical, for general logistics.
